“Days of Our Lives” has a knack for creating and cultivating memorable characters. Over the years, fans have fallen in love with characters like Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), and many more, per Soaps.com.

Of course, not all characters can be iconic, and some are so short-lived or haven’t been seen in so long that many fans have forgotten about them. According to Celebrating The Soaps, former characters like Chris Kositchek, played by Roman Brady portrayer Josh Taylor, Chelsea Brady, Jade Michaels, and Frankie Brady all made big impacts during their time in Salem. However, viewers may not remember their existence as they haven’t been seen or talked about in many years.  One of these long-lost characters just so happened to be portrayed by “General Hospital” fan-favorite actor Michael Easton.

When it comes to “General Hospital,” Michael Easton is a bit of a legend. The actor has portrayed multiple characters in the ABC soap opera universe, including a vampire named Caleb Morley on the “General Hospital” spin-off “Port Charles,” per Collider.

Easton later moved over to “One Life To Live” as a character named John McBain. That character would eventually cross over to “General Hospital” as well. Easton has also portrayed Silas Clay, and his most recent incarnation is the character of Hamilton Finn. Although Easton has played many characters on the sudser, it seems that he’s very happy with the role of Finn. During a 2016 interview with TV Insider, the actor admitted that he was pleased with the role.  “Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman [former GH head writers] came up with a character — a drug addict with OCD — who was eccentric, charming, vulnerable, awkward. He doesn’t really have a filter or care what you might think of him. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I didn’t want Silas to be how I was remembered at GH. But I’d be fine if Finn is the way I go out. Happy, in fact,” he stated.

Meanwhile, longtime fans of daytime television may remember Easton’s first soap opera role on “Days of Our Lives.”

In 1991, Michael Easton appeared on “Days of Our Lives” in the role of Tanner Scofield, a bad boy with family issues who bartended at a Salem establishment called Wings (via Soap Central). He even had a romantic fling with fan-favorite character Carrie Brady (Christie Clark). However, Tanner’s heart truly belonged to a character named Molly Brinker.

Molly came to Salem for a fresh start. She was also looking for her biological mother, per Fame 10. She became friendly with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), who offered her a place to stay and a job at Wings, where she met Tanner.  Sparks flew between Molly and Tanner, and the pair began dating. They fell madly in love, and fans were captivated by their relationship. However, their romance was short-lived on the show as the couple ended up leaving Salem together in 1992 as they looked to start a new life together. In 2020, Easton answered questions from fans via social media and touched on the subject of returning to “Days of Our Lives” as Tanner Scofield (via Soaps.com). “I still have the leather jacket, but I gave away all my torn, acid-washed blue jeans so that probably rules me out,” the actor teased.

However, fans would likely love to see him return as Tanner, or even a new character, in the future.
